Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know
Anki is where most people end up when they get serious about learning a language, but it's clunky, dated, and not built specifically for language learning. You end up spending too much time managing cards and decks instead of learning.
Duolingo holds your hand with a modern look & feel, but its teaching methodology is diffuse and unfocused.
vocabcraft.com strikes a balance between the two by borrowing the flashcard approach of Anki, but with the modern look and feel of Duolingo.
We use multi-round deep-reasoning AI (thousands of dollars in credits) to generate the core list of words, then have teachers and users curate the results to iron out any kinks.
Words are ordered by real-world usage frequency, so you learn the most useful words first. When an official certification exam exists, we use it to order the deck. For example, the Japanese deck follows JLPT levels (N5 to N1).
Sidenote: Vocabcraft is already architected to be a native app; if popular demand arises, we may offer the native option later - we are pragmatists first and foremost, and will listen to popular demand.
